Neal & Harwell, PLC proudly presented the 2017 Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce Gerry Neenan Memorial Golf Tournament on September 5, 2017 at the Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tennessee. Twenty-two teams representing the Donelson, Hermitage, Old Hickory, and surrounding communities waited out a downpour to engage in an afternoon of friendly competition. Neal & Harwell attorneys Scott Ross, David Thompson, Stephen Montgomery, and Isaac Sanders played in the tournament alongside invited guests from the community.
This year, the golf tournament was named in honor of Gerry Neenan, a member of Neal & Harwell who was a long-time supporter of the Donelson-Hermitage Chamber of Commerce prior to his death in 2016. Among other leadership roles, Gerry chaired the Chamber’s Bylaws Committee, served on the Chamber’s Board of Directors, and served as the Chamber’s President in 2016. Although Gerry did not play golf regularly, the golf tournament was his favorite Chamber event because of the fellowship and goodwill the tournament generates every year.
At the conclusion of the tournament, Jennifer Neenan, Gerry’s wife, and Stephen Montgomery of Neal & Harwell were presented with framed pictures commemorating the re-naming of the golf tournament in Gerry’s memory.
Neal & Harwell client Nashville Armory sponsored an innovative on-course contest at the 12th hole. For a donation to the Chamber, teams could launch their tee shot from an air cannon directly onto the green. The wiser teams took advantage of the pneumatic assistance and expert aiming guidance of the Nashville Armory representatives!
